I do three kinds of work. Whatever the job, the person you first contact is the one who sees it through to the final file.

문서 번역

계약서, 사용 설명서, 회사 소개서, 논문 초록처럼 정확해야 하는 글을 옮깁니다. 원문 형식(워드·엑셀·파워포인트·PDF) 그대로 돌려드립니다.

Document translation

Contracts, user manuals, company profiles, research abstracts — writing that has to be exact. You get the file back in its original format, whether that’s Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF.

회의 통역

화상·대면 회의의 순차 통역과 위스퍼링 통역을 합니다. 회의 자료와 참석자 명단을 사흘 전에 받아 용어를 미리 정리해 갑니다.

Meeting interpreting

Consecutive and whispered interpreting for video calls and in-person meetings. I ask for the agenda and attendee list three days ahead, so the terminology is settled before anyone sits down.

웹·앱 현지화

버튼 하나, 알림 한 줄도 화면 글자 수와 서비스 말투에 맞춥니다. 옮긴 뒤 실제 화면에서 잘리거나 어색한 곳이 없는지 한 번 더 봅니다.

Website & app localization

Every button label and notification is fitted to its character limit and to the product’s voice. Once the strings are in, I check them on the real screens for truncation and anything that reads awkwardly.

을은 본 계약의 체결 사실 및 내용을 갑의 사전 서면 동의 없이 제3자에게 누설하여서는 아니 된다.

Party B shall not disclose the existence or terms of this Agreement to any third party without Party A’s prior written consent.

번역 노트 ‘누설’을 leak으로 옮기지 않았습니다. 계약서에서는 disclose가 정해진 말이고, ‘~하여서는 아니 된다’는 shall not으로 맞춥니다. 어순이 바뀌어도 짝은 그대로입니다.

Translator’s note I don’t render 누설 as “leak.” In contracts, “disclose” is the settled term, and the Korean prohibitive form maps to “shall not.” The word order changes; the pairs don’t.

번역 노트 ‘모든 준비가 되었습니다!’로 옮기면 무엇이 준비됐는지 알 수 없습니다. 주문 완료 화면이라는 맥락을 살리고, 앱 말투(해요체)와 알림 글자 수 제한에 맞췄습니다.

Translator’s note A literal rendering (“Everything is ready!”) leaves Korean users wondering what is ready. I kept the order-confirmation context, the app’s friendly 해요 register, and the notification’s character limit.

통역 노트 ‘수고하셨습니다’는 영어에 꼭 맞는 말이 없습니다. 말 대신 기능을 옮깁니다 — 회의를 따뜻하게 닫는 인사라는 것.

Interpreter’s note There is no exact English equivalent for 수고하셨습니다. So I carry over its function instead of its words: a warm way to close the meeting.

용어집부터 만듭니다. 같은 말은 문서 끝까지 같은 말로 옮기고, 애매한 곳은 모아서 한 번에 여쭙니다.

3Translation
I start with a glossary, so the same term stays the same to the last page. Anything ambiguous I collect and ask about in one go.
4검수
하루 묵혔다가 원문과 한 문장씩 맞대어 다시 읽습니다. 숫자·고유명사·빠진 문장을 따로 확인합니다.

4Review
I let the draft rest for a day, then read it against the source sentence by sentence, with a separate pass for numbers, names, and anything left out.
5최종본 받기
원래 파일 형식 그대로 보내 드립니다. 받으신 뒤 7일 안의 수정 요청 한 번은 금액에 들어 있습니다.

5Receive the final file
You get the translation in the original file format. One round of revisions requested within seven days is included in the price.

비밀 유지 원하시면 비밀유지계약서(NDA)를 먼저 쓰고 시작합니다. 고객 동의 없이 원문을 외부 번역기·AI 서비스에 넣지 않고, 작업이 끝나면 파일 보관 기간 [기간 입력] 뒤 지웁니다.

Confidentiality I’m happy to sign an NDA before we start. Your source text never goes into an external machine-translation or AI service without your consent, and files are deleted [retention period] after delivery.

번역이 마음에 들지 않으면요?

최종본을 받고 7일 안에 고칠 곳을 알려 주시면 한 번은 금액 없이 고칩니다. 원문 내용이 바뀐 부분은 따로 견적을 드립니다.

What if I’m not happy with the translation?

Tell me what to change within seven days of delivery and I’ll revise it once at no charge. Changes to the source text itself are quoted separately.

기계 번역(AI)을 쓰나요?

고객 동의 없이 원문을 외부 번역기에 넣지 않습니다. 쓰는 경우에도 결과를 그대로 넘기지 않고, 모든 문장을 제가 다시 쓰고 검수합니다.

Do you use machine translation or AI?

Not on your text without your consent. Even when a tool is used, nothing goes out as is — I rewrite and review every sentence myself.

통역 요금은 어떻게 정하나요?

반나절(4시간)·하루(8시간) 단위로 정하고, 준비 자료와 이동 거리에 따라 달라집니다. 반나절 기준 [통역료 입력]부터입니다.

How do you price interpreting?

By the half day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours), adjusted for prep material and travel. A half day starts from [rate].

급하게 내일까지 필요한데 되나요?

A4 5쪽 안팎이면 일정에 따라 가능합니다. 먼저 전화나 문자로 분량을 알려 주세요. 검수 시간을 줄이지 않는 선에서만 받습니다.

I need it by tomorrow. Is that possible?

For around five pages, often yes, depending on my schedule. Call or text me the length first. I only take rush jobs when the review step doesn’t get cut.
